UPDATE — 12/15/25 at 7 a.m. ET: Legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles, home, on Sunday, December 14, the couple’s family confirmed.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” a spokesperson for the family said in a statement shared with Variety. “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
A report published by TMZ earlier on Sunday stated that law enforcement sources confirmed two bodies found at the couple’s Brentwood residence were “the Reiners.”
The outlet stated that the pair “suffered lacerations consistent with a knife,” and the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery Homicide Division is “still investigating.”
