Rob Reiner was a beloved Hollywood director, comedian, and actor. After the When Harry Met Sally director was found dead along with his wife, Michele, tributes flooded in from his famous friends.
The couple was last seen at Conan O’Brien’s holiday party with their son, Nick. After some reported incidents, Rob and Michele allegedly apologized to the host for their son’s “asocial and unsettling behavior” and left the party shortly after.

Rob & Michele Reiner’s Medical Records Are ‘Sealed’ Until Further Notice as Their Son Faces Murder Charges for Their Death
Rob and Michele Reiner’s bodies were discovered on Dec. 14, allegedly by their daughter Romy. Nick was arrested on Dec. 16 and is charged with 2 counts of murder, and faces a special circumstance allegation of using a deadly weapon, according to court documents. If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.
What were Rob Reiner’s last words?
Rob Reiner’s close friend and Monty Python star Eric Idle revealed that he talked to the director just hours before his death. “Rob Reiner was a lovely man,” the comedian wrote in a post on X. “I spoke to him last night for over an hour. I always enjoyed his company.”
“Last thing he said to me was ‘See you next year..’ Such a terrible end. Such a sweet man,” he wrote on the post, according to the Daily Mail. The post has since been edited, and currently does not contain that segment. “I met him at his Dad’s in 1975. He was telling me about fiming at Stonehenge and his thoughts for the future. This is so awful. I shall miss him. A clever, talented and very thoughtful man. So awful.”
Jane Fonda had also spent time with Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, before their deaths. “Rob and Michele Reiner were wonderful, caring, smart, funny, generous people, always coming up with ideas for how to make the world better, kinder,“ Fonda wrote in the post. ”They had been helping me launch the Committee for the First Amendment. I saw them night before last looking healthy and happy.“
“I am reeling with grief. Stunned,” she added.
Former first lady Michelle Obama also revealed that she and her husband former President Barack Obama were planning to meet with Rob and his wife on the night of their murders.
