If you see a man with one painted fingernail, here’s what it means

Elliot Costello’s encounter with a young girl named Thea in Cambodia sparked a movement to combat child sexual abuse. Thea, a survivor of abuse, painted one of Elliot’s fingernails during their conversation. He pledged to keep it painted to remember her suffering, inspiring the #PolishedMan movement.

#PolishedMan encourages men to paint one nail to symbolize the one in five children affected by sexual violence. It aims to challenge violent behavior and language worldwide. Elliot points out that men are responsible for 96% of such abuse against children and must drive change.

“As she painted one of my nails, I assured her I would always keep it that way to remember her, and by extension, her suffering,” Elliot said.

The painted nail serves as a conversation starter about child abuse and raises awareness for prevention efforts. Donations support educational programs for child survivors. The hope is for more men, including celebrities, to join this crucial movement. Share this to spread awareness.

Despite the conveniences that come with modern technology and its developments, I find it surprising that some people still use antiquated equipment.

Consider the 67-year-old guy who constructed this cave, demonstrating that aging was not a barrier to his ability to complete such a massive effort. With little money in hand, he toiled diligently on his project using simple home tools like a shovel and cart. Despite not having a formal education, he believes that people would recognize the quality of his craftsmanship.

When the man started excavating his cave in 1987, he had no idea that it would grow to be as well-known and popular as it is now, with a variety of artifacts hanging on its walls. Ra Paulet’s caverns are so beautiful that it is hard to put a value on them.

The man has so far finished 14 caverns and is working on his 15th, which he claims will be his best to yet. See the video below for more information.

  • Achieving Better Sleep with Room Temperature

Achieving Better Sleep with Room Temperature

As we age, it becomes increasingly important to prioritize our sleep and ensure that we are getting the rest we need to stay healthy and energized. Dr. Kelvas, a sleep expert, highlights the impact of room temperature on our ability to fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night.

When the room is too hot or cold, our bodies struggle to regulate the hormones necessary for a good night’s sleep. This can lead to difficulties in falling asleep and staying asleep. The ideal room temperature for promoting healthy sleep is between 60 °F (15.5 °C) to 68 °F (20 °C), according to the Sleep Foundation.

Understanding the interplay between temperature and our bodies is crucial. Our bodies have a built-in thermoregulatory mechanism that allows us to maintain a healthy internal body temperature regardless of the ambient temperature. Sweating and shivering are two primary mechanisms our bodies use to cool down or generate heat, respectively. Blood vessel dilation and constriction also play a role in regulating body temperature.

When it comes to sleep, temperature continues to have an impact. Throughout our evolution, temperature has served as a cue for sleep and wake time. As our core body temperature drops, we enter slow-wave sleep, which is crucial for our overall well-being. Conversely, if the room is too warm, it can negatively affect REM sleep and slow-wave sleep. Humidity also has an impact on sleep quality, with higher humidity levels decreasing REM sleep and slow-wave sleep.

Throughout his career, he has encountered a lot of unforeseen circumstances that called for quick thinking to be resolved. But he became a hero in one specific circumstance.

A massive flock of birds suddenly attacked the aircraft Jason was piloting during a trip, banging on the windows and making a racket.

Jason was shocked by the sight because it was so unique. He tried to escape the angry birds, but it wasn’t as simple as he thought it would be because he knew the passengers’ lives were in his hands.

He prayed that the birds wouldn’t harm the engine while he attempted to reassure everyone on board that everything would go perfectly.
