  • Jean-Pierre, Fox News’ Doocy, Shout At Each Other Over Illegal Migrant Surge

Jean-Pierre, Fox News’ Doocy, Shout At Each Other Over Illegal Migrant Surge

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy once again engaged in a chaotic back-and-forth with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre as the question-and-answer session became heated over the ongoing illegal migrant crisis.

Upon taking office in January 2021, President Joe Biden immediately reversed the majority of his predecessor’s strict immigration and border enforcement policies, which Republicans say has led to historic levels of illegal crossings and smuggling of drugs like fentanyl that are killing nearly 100,000 Americans a year.

Doocy was preparing to ask a question about the arrival of thousands of illegal migrants at Eagle Pass, Texas, this week, but Jean-Pierre countered with a question of her own, leading to the tense exchange, with her shouting before finally moving on to other reporters:

DOOCY: So, what do you call it here at the White House when 10,000 people illegally cross the border in a single day?

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: So, what do you call it, Peter, when GOP puts forth a — wait, no —

    DOOCY: Asking are you —

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: No, no, no, no, no, no, you can’t —

    DOOCY: Karine —

    MS. JEAN-PIERRE: I’m answering.

Okay, we’re going to move on.

    DOOCY: You’re answering a question —

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: No, no, no, no —

    DOOCY: — with a question.

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: No, no, no —

    DOOCY: Okay.

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: No, no, no — no, no, no. We’re moving on.

    DOOCY: Karine, please —

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: We’re moving. In the back. Go ahead.

Jean-Pierre got a number of questions regarding the ongoing migrant crisis, some of which she did answer:

Q: The administration said yesterday it was granting temporary legal status to hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans. At the same time, the city of Eagle Pass in the Rio Grande has announced a state of emergency because of immigrants surge. Is there any concern that the timing of this Venezuelan TPS announcement might exacerbate what’s happening in Eagle Pass right now? And — and, you know, essentially, is this going to make the situation in Eagle Pass worse?

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: So, look, we have worked very hard — the President have worked very — very hard to pleme- — implement a strategy, when it comes to the border, that is humane, safe, and has orderly enforcement. That is something that we have tried to do and worked really hard to do these last two years.

I do want to add a couple of things that we also announced yesterday, as you — just to note — I’m sure you know — which is escalating the fight against smuggling and trafficking by prosecuting an increasing number of smugglers as well as non-citizens who are violating our laws. Right? This is an announcement we made yesterday.

Also, in deploying 800 new active-duty military personnel to support border efforts and get CBP agents and officer out in the field. This is up to — up to — this on top of the 2,500 National Guard personnel also deployed.

And expanding the Fentanyl [Family] Expedited Removal Management.

So, those are three other pieces that we announced, as well as the Venezuela TPS yesterday.

Let’s not forget the 24,000 CBP agents and officers along the southwest border.

So, we have taken steps without the help of — of Republicans in Congress to do everything that we can to deal with this issue.

And let’s not forget what the Republicans proposed. Their continuing resolution would lead 800 CBP agents and officers being fired and (inaudible) 50,000 pounds of cocaine, more than 300 pounds of fentanyl, more than 700 pounds of heroin, and more than 6,000 pounds of — of other drugs to — to enter the country.

That is what they proposed just a day — a day ago. And that’s what that would do to the — to the border; it would hurt and harm and not deal with the issue.

So, they are doing the opposite of what the President is trying to do — is actually move forward in a way that is humane, safe, and has an orderly enforcement pathway process here.

City Orders Restaurant To Remove Flags Honoring ‘Fallen Heroes’, Owner Refuses

In the heart of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Johnny Brann, a dedicated restaurant owner, finds himself embroiled in a controversy over a display that honors the memory of fallen police officers and military personnel.

Despite running afoul of the city’s zoning ordinances, Brann is steadfast in his refusal to dismantle flags and a sign that serve as a poignant tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

City leaders argue that the display exceeds the allowable limits for signage, sparking a debate over the balance between honoring heroes and adhering to zoning regulations. While the city contends that rules must be followed, Brann passionately insists that his display is an essential expression of gratitude and respect for law enforcement and military service members.

Undeterred by the zoning violation, Brann plans to navigate the bureaucratic channels by applying for a zoning variance. However, he makes it abundantly clear that even if his application faces rejection, he will stand resolute in preserving the memorial.

His unwavering commitment to honoring those who have given their lives in service to the community reflects a deep-seated belief in the importance of recognizing and appreciating the sacrifices made by these brave individuals.

Interestingly, amid the ongoing debate, Brann did opt to remove a pair of banners from the display. This decision followed complaints that the messaging on the banners was perceived as political and offensive to some members of the community. It highlights the delicate balance that individuals, especially business owners, must navigate when expressing their views and sentiments in a public space.

  • Single Photo Sparks Outrage

    Single Photo Sparks Outrage

One family walked into a local Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Dallas they were denied the seat they desired and decided to take a stand against the restaurant by sharing a picture of it on social media.

The family was mad that the hostess had walked right past the seemingly available booth. Because they really wanted those more comfortable seats, the family sent one of their own to go “scout it out” and found that there was a sign on the table indicating the booth was reserved from some special VIPs.

As soon as the family saw the sign on the table, they felt honored to be sitting so close to these VIPs. And because the people were not going to walk into the Texas Roadhouse restaurant any second, they were sitting at the edge of their seat.

That’s because the booth was reserved for five slain poIice officers. The restaurant wanted to honor and recognize the brave poIice officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. It was their way to memorialize them. Even though it was just a small way to do so, other customers noticed and were proud to share the news on sociaI media and promote the Texas Roadhouse location.

The sign on the table read: “We remember and honor the five slain poIice officers, Sergeant Michael J. Smith, Officer Michael Krol, Officer Patrick Zamarripa, Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens, and Mr. Brent Thompson, who worked for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit PoIice Department, that the Texas Roadhouse restaurant reserved a table for. We thank you for your service. May you rest in peace.” The customers were honored to know that the table at the busy restaurant was set aside as a way to honor these dedicated poIice officers.

Because they had lost their lives in the line of duty protecting the residents of Dallas, the Texas location of the restaurant wanted the hundreds of patrons strolling through the door that night to know this restaurant stands with its poIice officers. The customers were all too happy to snap pictures of the sign and the table, which included an American flag. The management at the restaurant couldn’t have been happier with it. What do you think about the way the chain restaurant honored its local poIice officers who were slain in the line of duty?

    Sad news about Brad Pitt

In a recent interview, Brad Pitt revealed that he has prosopagnosia, or “facial blindness,” a rare neurological condition.

Symptoms include difficulty recognizing faces, which can vary in severity among individuals. Despite no link to learning disabilities or memory loss, some may experience chronic anxiety or depression due to social challenges.

Prosopagnosia can be congenital or acquired, with some cases running in families. Congenital prosopagnosia lacks visible brain abnormalities, making its exact cause uncertain. Acquired prosopagnosia may result from brain injuries or conditions like Alzheimer’s.

While no cure exists, individuals may learn to differentiate people through alternative cues like voice or gait. Diagnosis involves memory and face recognition tests, with neurologists ensuring it’s not a symptom of a more severe condition.

Many, like Pitt, may never receive a formal diagnosis, as prosopagnosia’s challenges are common. Despite its debilitating effects on some, others manage to cope with its social complexities.
