Bill Belichick’s Ultimate Flex: Gifting His Girlfriend a Super Bowl Ring at NFL Honors

The NFL Honors ceremony is always a glamorous affair, where the league’s biggest stars gather to celebrate the season’s best performances.

But this year, legendary head coach Bill Belichick stole the show—not with a rousing speech, not with a record-breaking award, but with an act of sheer dominance that only a coach of his stature could pull off.

In a moment that left the football world buzzing, Belichick presented his longtime girlfriend with one of his Super Bowl rings, a gesture that not only symbolized his success but also served as the ultimate flex.

With eight rings to his name—six as the head coach of the New England Patriots and two from his time as a defensive coordinator with the New York Giants—Belichick’s collection is unmatched. And apparently, he has so many that they no longer fit on one hand, making gifting one a reasonable choice.

    A Legacy of Championships

To truly understand the gravity of this moment, one must appreciate Belichick’s unparalleled success in the NFL. His career spans over four decades, during which he revolutionized the game with his defensive brilliance, meticulous game-planning, and an unwavering commitment to preparation.

His tenure with the New England Patriots cemented him as one of the greatest coaches in sports history, leading the team to nine Super Bowl appearances and six victories, with quarterback Tom Brady as his longtime partner in football dominance.

Beyond his Super Bowl rings, Belichick holds records in numerous categories, including the most playoff wins by a head coach and the most division titles.

His legacy is one of unrelenting excellence, and with that success comes the spoils—championship rings, the most coveted hardware in the sport.

The Ring That Stole the Show

During the NFL Honors ceremony, the cameras caught Belichick making his grand gesture. His girlfriend, Linda Holliday, looked both surprised and elated as Belichick casually slipped the gleaming ring onto her finger. The crowd erupted, and social media exploded with reactions.

Sports analysts and fans alike couldn’t stop talking about the moment. Was it a romantic gesture? A sign of supreme confidence? A subtle reminder that Belichick’s legacy is unparalleled? Perhaps all of the above.

Former players and NFL insiders quickly weighed in. “That’s GOAT behavior,” tweeted former Patriots receiver Julian Edelman. “Bill out here handing out Super Bowl rings like party favors.”

Shannon Sharpe, Hall of Fame tight end and sports analyst, laughed on his morning show, saying, “Most guys give flowers or jewelry. Belichick gives Super Bowl rings. That’s next level.”

Even Tom Brady, his longtime quarterback and co-architect of the Patriots dynasty, posted on Instagram: “Flex of the year. Coach still playing chess while the rest of us play checkers.”

    More Rings Than Fingers

For Belichick, the act of giving away a Super Bowl ring isn’t as outlandish as it would be for others. After all, most people who are fortunate enough to win one championship ring treasure it for life, passing it down as a family heirloom. But Belichick? He has eight.

At this point, his collection is so extensive that he can afford to part with one and still have more than most franchises do in their entire history. It’s a testament to his unprecedented career and the dynasty he built in New England.

While many fans speculated whether this was a sign of a future engagement, sources close to Belichick suggest it was simply a gesture of appreciation.

“Coach loves his rings, but he also knows the people who have been there with him through it all. Linda has been by his side for years,” said a former Patriots staffer. “It’s his way of saying she’s part of that legacy.”

    The Ultimate Coaching Mindset

Belichick’s cool, calculated demeanor is legendary. He’s known for his monotone press conferences, his “Do Your Job” mantra, and his focus on execution over emotion.

Yet, this move at the NFL Honors showed a different side of him—one that understands the power of optics and the value of a grand gesture.

In a league that thrives on competition, narratives, and larger-than-life moments, Belichick has always found ways to command attention without seeking it outright.

Whether it’s scheming the perfect defensive game plan, outsmarting opponents with unexpected roster moves, or pulling off a moment like this, he stays ahead of the game.

For years, he was synonymous with the “Patriot Way,” a philosophy built on discipline, adaptability, and a relentless pursuit of success. Even though his future with the Patriots remains uncertain after parting ways with the team, his legacy is already set in stone.

And if the NFL Honors moment proved anything, it’s that Belichick’s greatness extends beyond the football field—it’s woven into every aspect of his life.

    A Moment for the Ages

The reaction to Belichick’s ring giveaway has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans and analysts alike marveling at the sheer audacity of the move.

Some have joked that other NFL coaches wouldn’t be able to pull off the same stunt. “Imagine Mike McCarthy trying this,” one fan tweeted. “He’d be lucky to give away a conference championship ring.”

Meanwhile, others saw it as a fitting moment for a coach who has nothing left to prove. “At this point, Belichick is in legacy mode,” said ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “He’s done it all. He’s won at every level. Now he’s just flexing, and rightfully so.”

    What’s Next for Belichick?

While the NFL Honors moment was a fun and unexpected headline, the bigger question remains: what’s next for Belichick?

After parting ways with the Patriots, many expected him to land another coaching job immediately. Several teams expressed interest, but as of now, he remains a free agent in the coaching world.

Will he return to the sidelines in 2025? Will he take a year off to recharge before making a comeback? Or could this be the start of a new chapter where he transitions into a different role within the NFL? One thing is for certain—wherever he goes, success follows.

Regardless of his next move, Belichick has already secured his place in history. The Super Bowl rings, the records, the iconic moments—they all speak for themselves.

And now, he’s even making headlines with his personal life, proving that when it comes to flexing, nobody does it better than Bill Belichick.

As the NFL world continues to debate the meaning behind his grand gesture, one thing is clear: Belichick remains undefeated in making headlines.

And whether he’s coaching on the sidelines or handing out Super Bowl rings at a black-tie event, he’ll always be one step ahead of the competition.

  • Bruce Springsteen decides to join Robert De Niro in leaving the United States and moving to Canada out of a “lack of respect.” (N)

Bruce Springsteen Decides to Join Robert De Niro in Leaving the United States and Moving to Canada Out of a “Lack of Respect”
In a move that has shocked the entertainment industry and ignited heated debates across social and political platforms, rock icon Bruce Springsteen has announced that he will be leaving the United States to join his friend and fellow celebrity, Robert De Niro, in relocating to Canada.

Springsteen, widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians of his generation, revealed that his decision stems from what he describes as a “lack of respect” he has experienced in recent years, both personally and as an American citizen.

The news comes on the heels of De Niro’s own declaration that he would be moving to Canada, a move that the legendary actor cited as a response to what he perceives as a deepening divide in the country and an erosion of respect for the values he holds dear.

For both Springsteen and De Niro, their departure from the U.S. marks a dramatic turn in their personal lives, and the decision has sparked widespread conversation about the state of American society, politics, and the role of public figures in navigating such turbulence.

A Bold Move for Two Legends

Bruce Springsteen, known for his anthemic songs about working-class struggles, American identity, and political activism, has always been an outspoken figure, using his platform to advocate for social justice, equality, and environmental issues.

Likewise, Robert De Niro, whose career spans decades of award-winning acting and activism, has often used his voice to criticize political leaders and call for meaningful change in the country.

In their shared statement, both Springsteen and De Niro cited the increasing “disrespect” they felt from the current social and political climate in the U.S. Springsteen, in particular, has seen his fair share of public scrutiny over the years, both as a musician and as an outspoken critic of various political issues.

However, this recent decision to leave, which he described as one of the toughest of his life, marks a significant shift in his personal and professional outlook.

“I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d even consider leaving my own country,” Springsteen said in an exclusive interview.

“But when you feel like your values are being continuously attacked, when you’re surrounded by a growing sense of divisiveness and hostility, it becomes hard to ignore the toll it takes on your spirit. And when I look at what’s happening around me, I don’t recognize the country I once believed in anymore.”

Springsteen’s decision echoes many sentiments shared by others in the entertainment industry who have grown increasingly frustrated with the political climate and its impact on national unity.

However, it’s not just about political disagreements for Springsteen and De Niro; the lack of respect they feel has transcended politics and entered their personal lives.

Robert De Niro’s Role in the Decision

For many, the news that De Niro was moving to Canada came as a surprise, though it was less shocking given his history of outspoken political commentary.

De Niro has long been an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump, and his disdain for Trump’s policies and rhetoric became a central theme in his public persona during and after Trump’s presidency. De Niro’s decision to leave the U.S. was made in the context of what he described as a “fundamental shift in the soul of the country.”

“I’ve always been proud to be an American, but the respect for the common good, for kindness, for empathy—it feels like those things are gone,” De Niro said in a recent statement.

“I’ve spent my life building my career here, working alongside incredible people, and standing up for what’s right. But I can’t, in good conscience, stay in a place where I no longer feel the values that made me proud to be an American are being upheld.”

It was this shared sense of disenchantment that brought De Niro and Springsteen closer together, and the two friends quickly found common ground in their decision to leave the U.S.

According to sources close to the pair, both men spent months discussing their frustrations with the direction the country was heading and the toll it was taking on their mental health and personal lives. Eventually, the conversation turned to the possibility of a fresh start in a more welcoming and politically neutral environment.

“When Bob and I started talking about Canada, we both realized that maybe it was time for us to make a change,” Springsteen explained. “I don’t know what the future holds, but I know that Canada is a place where I can find some peace, where I can reconnect with my values and the things that really matter.”

The Canada Move: What It Means for Their Lives

While neither Springsteen nor De Niro have disclosed the exact details of their move to Canada, both have indicated that they are looking for a fresh start in a place that offers them a sense of peace and respect.

Springsteen, who has lived in New Jersey for much of his life, has expressed a desire to experience life outside the U.S., and Canada’s reputation for political stability and a more inclusive society has made it an attractive option for the duo.

Canada, often seen as a haven for those seeking to escape the political volatility of the United States, has long been considered a desirable destination for celebrities and public figures looking to distance themselves from American politics.

The country’s more progressive policies and emphasis on diversity and social justice have made it an appealing place for those who feel alienated by the growing polarization in the U.S.

For Springsteen and De Niro, the move represents a dramatic break from the country that made them household names. But it also signals a desire to align their personal and professional lives with the values they hold dear, which they feel are increasingly at odds with the current state of American society.

“It’s not about running away,” Springsteen clarified. “It’s about finding a place where I can be true to myself and continue to do the work I love without constantly feeling like I’m fighting against a system that no longer reflects the best of what America can be.”

    Public Reactions: Mixed Views

The decision by two of the most influential figures in entertainment to leave the United States has ignited a range of reactions. Supporters of Springsteen and De Niro have applauded their courage to take a stand against what they perceive as a broken system.

Many argue that the U.S. has become a more hostile environment for those who value empathy, kindness, and social progress—qualities that both Springsteen and De Niro have championed throughout their careers.

“This is a bold and powerful statement,” said political commentator Michelle Barnett. “For Bruce and Bob to leave is not just about their own frustrations; it’s about showing the world that even the most successful and influential people can’t ignore the toxic atmosphere that has taken hold of this country.”

However, detractors have criticized the two men for their decision to abandon their home country. Some view it as an act of cowardice or an overreaction to political disagreements.

Others argue that Springsteen and De Niro, as wealthy and successful individuals, are out of touch with the struggles faced by everyday Americans and that their departure is a sign of elitism.

“You can’t just pack up and leave when things don’t go your way,” one critic wrote on social media. “If they really cared about America, they’d stay and fight for change, not run away to another country.”

The Bigger Picture: A Symbol of Disillusionment

At the heart of Springsteen and De Niro’s decision to leave the United States lies a broader sense of disillusionment that many Americans share.

The increasing polarization of politics, the rise of extreme rhetoric, and the erosion of mutual respect have left many feeling disconnected from the nation they once loved.

For celebrities like Springsteen and De Niro, who have spent their lives speaking out on issues of justice, equality, and empathy, the current state of the country has become too much to ignore.

In a time of deep national divisions, the decision by two public figures to leave the U.S. is a powerful statement about the state of American society.

It raises questions about the role of celebrities in shaping public opinion and the ways in which the country’s values are being tested. Whether their departure will inspire others to take similar steps remains to be seen, but for now, Springsteen and De Niro’s move serves as a poignant reminder of the personal toll that national division can take, even on those who seem untouchable in the public eye.

As for what’s next for the two legends, both Springsteen and De Niro have hinted that their time in Canada will allow them to focus on their creative endeavors, away from the distractions and pressures of the American media landscape.

What’s clear is that, for now, they are seeking peace and respect—qualities they feel are increasingly hard to find in their homeland.

Trump’s Controversial USAID Shake-Up Sparks Nationwide Debate

Former President Donald Trump has made headlines once more for his alleged decision to restructure the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which is a shocking and dramatic move.

The action has generated intense, cross-party debate and rekindled conversations about the function of U.S. foreign aid in international humanitarian efforts, national security, and diplomacy.

The controversy started on Friday when the USAID website suddenly went down, sparking a lot of conjecture among international aid organizations and political analysts. Sources inside the Trump administration indicated that plans were in motion to integrate USAID more directly under the State Department’s jurisdiction, even though no formal statement was initially made public.

If put into effect, such a structural change would mark a substantial break from the agency’s traditionally autonomous function of providing development and foreign aid.

1: When I Went to the Park and Found Granny’s Crying Confession
Ever come across someone whose life seems straight out of a fairy tale, only to realize reality had the last laugh?

One breezy morning, I decided to take a walk through the park. The usual park sights greeted me — families picnicking, kids chasing each other, and joggers sweating through their morning routines. Then I spotted something unusual: a frail old lady, sitting all alone on a bench, weeping quietly into her hands.

“Excuse me, ma’am,” I said cautiously, “are you alright? Is there something I can do for you?”

She looked up at me with watery eyes and said, “Oh, young man, I have the best life anyone could ever ask for.”

This was not the answer I’d expected. Curious, I took a seat next to her. “That sounds wonderful,” I said gently. “What’s making you so upset?”

With a wistful sigh, she began her story. “I’m married to a 22-year-old man who treats me like a queen. Every morning, he brings me breakfast in bed — fresh waffles, syrup, and a latte just the way I like it. He massages my feet afterward to start my day right.”

“Wow,” I said, nodding, “that sounds amazing.”

“Oh, but there’s more,” she continued. “He cooks me a gourmet lunch every afternoon, serenades me with his guitar while I relax in the garden, and spoils me with candlelit dinners. He even writes poetry just for me!”

I was thoroughly impressed. “He plays the guitar for you? How romantic! That sounds like a dream. But why are you crying?”

She sniffled loudly, tears streaming down her cheeks. “Because… I can’t remember where I live!”

I bit my lip to suppress my laughter, but let’s just say it didn’t work. I chuckled so hard that I might’ve needed a tissue myself.

2: Three Sons Compete Over Who Got Their Elderly Mother the Best Birthday Present
Siblings love to show off, especially when it comes to pleasing their parents. But this time, their mother had the last laugh.

Gerard, Howard, and Norman were three successful brothers who wanted to outshine each other with the most impressive gift for their mother’s 90th birthday. They gathered at dinner to boast about their presents.

“I built a sprawling mansion for Mom,” Gerard said with a smug smile. “It’s got ten bedrooms, a library, and even an indoor pool.”

Howard chuckled. “That’s cute. I sent her a Tesla with a personal chauffeur who’s always on call. She’ll never have to drive herself again.”

Norman leaned back in his chair, his smile even bigger. “Amateurs. I sent Mom a brown parrot trained for twelve years by monks. It knows the entire Bible. All she has to do is name a verse, and it will recite it perfectly.”

A week later, their mother sent thank-you notes.

“Gerard,” she wrote, “the house is lovely, but it’s far too big. I only use one room, and I have to clean the entire place!”

“Howard,” she wrote, “the car is beautiful, but I don’t go out much, and the driver has a temper worse than your father’s.”

“Dearest Norman,” she wrote, “you’re the only one who truly understands me. The roast chicken was delicious. But it was pretty small.”

Norman realized his “biblical” bird had become dinner instead of delivering divine inspiration.

3: The 3 a.m. Push Request That Went Sideways

It’s one thing to ask for help, but knocking on someone’s door in the middle of the night is a whole other level of bold.

One freezing night, my husband and I were jolted awake by the loudest pounding on the door. Grumbling, he dragged himself out of bed to see who it was.

When he opened the door, a man stood on our porch, soaking wet and shivering. “Excuse me,” the guy said politely, “can you give me a push?”

My husband scowled. “Are you serious? It’s three in the morning! And it’s freezing out here!”

He slammed the door and stomped back to bed, still muttering.

“Who was it?” I asked sleepily.

“Some guy wanting a push,” he replied, clearly annoyed.

    “Did you help him?”

“Help him? No way! It’s pitch dark and pouring rain!”

I gave him a look that could melt ice. “Do you remember when our car broke down last winter? Those kind strangers who pushed us out of that ditch? Don’t you think it’s our turn now?”

With a groan of defeat, he got dressed and stepped outside into the cold as I watched from the window.

“Hey, where are you?” he called out to the guy.

    “Over here,” the voice replied.

    “Where exactly?”

    “On the swing set!”

The look on his face when he stormed back inside, dripping wet, was priceless.

4: A Recently Single Woman Buys a Flashy New Corvette

When life gives you lemons, some people buy a Corvette.

A newly divorced woman decided it was time to splurge on something that screamed independence. She drove off the lot in a shiny red Corvette and hit the highway, ready to embrace her new chapter.

Feeling the thrill of the open road, she floored it, hitting 90 mph. Then 100. But her joyride came to an abrupt halt when flashing lights appeared in her rearview mirror.

“Maybe I can outrun him,” she thought, pushing the car harder. But common sense prevailed, and she pulled over.

The officer approached, his face a mix of exhaustion and irritation. “Ma’am, I’ve had a long day. If you can give me an excuse for speeding that I’ve never heard before, I’ll let you go.”

She didn’t hesitate. “Last week, my husband ran off with a cop. I thought you were trying to bring him back!”

The officer tried to keep a straight face but eventually burst into laughter. “Alright, ma’am,” he said with a chuckle. “Have a nice day.”

5: The Husband’s “Creative” Way to Handle a Hotel Bill
Some people handle unfair situations with logic. Others handle them with pure genius.

After a long drive, a couple decided to stop at a fancy hotel for some rest. Upon checking out, they were presented with a bill for $350.

“This must be a mistake,” the husband said. “We barely stayed here!”

“No mistake,” the male receptionist said cheerfully. “The fee includes access to our Olympic pool, spa, and conference center.”

“But we didn’t use any of that!”

“Yes, but they were available to you,” he replied with a grin.

The husband scribbled a check for $50 and handed it to him.

“This is only $50,” he said, puzzled.

“That’s right. I’m charging you $300 for sleeping with my wife.”

    “But I didn’t!” he protested.

“Well,” the husband said with a shrug, “she was available!”

6: A Harvard Graduate Sits Next to a Young Blonde Lady on a Flight
Never underestimate anyone, especially on a long flight.

A Harvard graduate spotted a blonde woman sitting next to him on a flight and decided to have some fun. “Let’s play a game,” he suggested. “I’ll ask you a question. If you don’t know the answer, you pay me $5. Then you ask me a question, and if I don’t know, I’ll pay you $500.”

    She agreed.

“What’s the exact distance between Earth and Mars?” he asked smugly.

The blonde handed him $5 without a word.

Her turn. “What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four?”

He pondered, searched the internet, and asked everyone around, but he came up empty. Frustrated, he handed her $500.

“So, what’s the answer?” he asked.

She smiled, handed him $5, and said, “I have no idea.”

  • Grandpa Rescues Grandson from House Ruined by Flood, Stranger Later Gifts Him Keys to New Home

Grandpa Rescues Grandson from House Ruined by Flood, Stranger Later Gifts Him Keys to New Home

The rain poured relentlessly as 78-year-old David stood outside what used to be his home, holding his two-year-old grandson, Noah, close to his chest. His heart ached as he watched the floodwaters swallow up everything he had built, leaving nothing but ruins behind.

“Dear Lord, give me strength,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “What should I do now?”

David had known hardship all his life. Raised in an orphanage, he had fought his way through struggles, built a home, and started a family. But fate had been cruel. His wife had passed away young, leaving him to raise their daughter alone. And now, the flood had taken her too—along with her husband—leaving only little Noah in David’s care.

The only reason Noah had survived was because of his cries. If David hadn’t heard them, if he hadn’t rushed to his grandson’s room in time, the boy might have been lost to the raging water as well.

The house had already begun to collapse when David reached Noah’s crib. Water seeped in through the walls, the ceiling groaned, and just as he pulled Noah into his arms, the roof caved in. By some miracle, they made it out before the house was completely destroyed.

His car, parked outside, was the only thing the flood hadn’t claimed. Clutching Noah close, David made a choice—he couldn’t stay in the town that had taken everything from him. With only a few bills in his wallet and nowhere else to go, he started driving, pushing through the torrential rain, hoping to find a new beginning.

David drove for hours through the stormy night, his hands trembling as exhaustion and grief weighed on him. His only thought was to get Noah to safety. When his gas meter dipped dangerously low, he spotted a small settlement up ahead and pulled over.

Noah’s cries grew louder—he was hungry, and David had no food, no milk, no idea where to find any. His only option was to ask for help.

With Noah in his arms, he knocked on the first door.

A woman answered, eyeing him suspiciously.

“Please,” David pleaded, “I need some milk for my grandson. We lost everything in the flood. We just need help.”

She scoffed. “I’m not running a charity. Find help somewhere else.”

Before he could say another word, she slammed the door in his face.

David knocked on another door. And another. Each time, he was turned away.

“That kid is crying like there won’t be another day!” one man shouted. “Go somewhere else!”

His heart shattered. Holding Noah close, he sat on the curb, rocking the child in his arms, whispering, “It’s going to be okay. We’ll find a way, I promise.” But even as he said it, doubt crept in.

Then, a gentle hand touched his shoulder.

Startled, David looked up to see a petite, middle-aged woman standing over him. Her eyes were filled with kindness.

“I haven’t seen you around before,” she said. “Are you new here?”

David’s eyes welled with tears. “Please,” he begged. “My grandson is hungry, and we have nowhere to go. We lost everything in the flood. Please don’t turn us away.”

The woman, Anna, didn’t hesitate. “Come with me,” she said softly.

Anna welcomed David and Noah into her home. She warmed up some milk and wrapped Noah in a dry blanket. Seeing David’s reluctance, she reassured him, “Stay as long as you need to. We’ll figure things out together.”

In the days that followed, Anna took care of them as if they were her own family. She worked on a small farm, and whatever she had—fresh milk, eggs, vegetables—she shared. She never once made David feel like a burden.

David, however, felt uneasy accepting her kindness. “I’ll find a job,” he insisted. “I don’t want to take advantage of you. We’ll move out as soon as I can afford a place.”

Then, one morning, something happened that left David speechless.

Anna handed him a set of keys.

“These are for you,” she said, smiling.

David frowned. “Keys? What do you mean?”

    “It’s your new home.”

David’s hands trembled as he held the keys. “We’ve only known each other for a week. Why would you do something like this for a stranger?”

Anna smiled. “You and Noah deserve a fresh start. Some of the ladies in the neighborhood came together and pooled their money to buy you a house. Their husbands are builders, so it didn’t cost much. We believe in helping each other here.”

David’s eyes filled with tears. “I don’t know how to thank you. I—I don’t deserve this.”

“Yes, you do,” Anna said firmly. “Just promise me one thing—when life gives you the chance, pay it forward.”

David wiped his tears and nodded. “I will. I promise.”

Years passed, and David kept his word. He raised Noah with love and always reminded him of the kindness that had saved them. Anna became “Aunt Anna” to Noah, and as he grew older, he cared for her as though she were his own family.

When David passed away at 98, Noah kept his promise to his grandfather. He had moved to another town for work, but he made sure to visit Anna often. When she grew older and found herself alone, Noah returned with a proposal.

“Come live with me,” he told her. “You gave us a home when we had nothing. Let me do the same for you.”

Anna, who had never had a family of her own, was overwhelmed. “Are you sure? I don’t want to be a burden.”

Noah smiled. “You’re not a burden. You’re family.”

Tears welled in Anna’s eyes as she hugged him. “David would be so proud of you.”

“He taught me well,” Noah said. “And so did you.”

What can we learn from this story?

Kindness doesn’t require wealth, just a willing heart. Anna didn’t have much, but she helped David and Noah when they needed it most. Years later, her kindness was repaid in an unexpected way.
Never lose hope in difficult times. When David thought all was lost, Anna appeared in his life. Sometimes, help comes when we least expect it.
The good we put into the world always finds its way back to us. Anna’s kindness gave David and Noah a new start, and in the end, Noah made sure she was never alone.
Noah honored his grandfather’s promise, proving that true family isn’t always the one we are born into—it’s the one we choose through love and kindness.

Reflections on a Popular Singer from the ’60s

According to reports, Sandy Posey, a country-pop singer who collaborated with Elvis Presley and achieved multiple hits in the 1960s, has passed away. She was eighty years old.

Two days later, according to TMZ, Posey passed away at her Tennessee home on Saturday morning, July 20, from dementia complications, with her husband Wade Cummins by her side.

A request for comment from PEOPLE was not immediately answered by Cummins.

Posey’s husband, a Presley impersonator who plays Elvis Wade, told TMZ that she was given a dementia diagnosis years ago and that her health has gotten worse over the last seven years.

Posey was born in Jasper, Alabama, on June 18, 1944, and was raised in Arkansas. According to her Spotify bio, she first worked as a receptionist at a recording studio before landing sessions as a session singer.

Producer Chips Moman was drawn to her debut single, “Kiss Me Goodnight,” which she released in 1965 under the alias Martha Sharp, according to the biography. Soon after, he assisted her in signing a deal with MGM Records.

Posey’s first two singles, “Born a Woman” and “Single Girl,” both peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, as did her 1967 hit, “I Take It Back.” Posey made her official pop recording debut in 1966.

At the 1967 ceremony, she received two Grammy nominations for “Born a Woman”: best contemporary solo vocal performance, male or female, and best vocal performance, female.

Posey changed to a more country-leaning sound in the 1970s and collaborated with Billy Sherrill, Tammy Wynette’s producer. During the decade, she achieved multiple top-40 hits in the genre.

According to Spotify, the singer took a break from performing in the middle of the 1980s and went on to work as a touring musician and session artist for Presley. She briefly resumed her recording career in the middle of the 2000s.

According to reports, Cummins told TMZ that Posey will be cremated and that a celebration of her life will be held at an undisclosed date in the near future, which he will stream live on Facebook.
